Most Disappointing PC Game of 2015

Evolve

It seems like a distant memory now, but try to remember the amount of hype Evolve had leading up to release. The game was everywhere, being talked about by absolutely every gaming site. It was supposed to usher in a new era of asymmetrical multiplayer. Most other games that have ended up disappointing fans as much as Evolve did are at least remembered for how poorly they turned out, but mere weeks after the game's release people had completely forgotten it existed.

Evolve commits that worst sin in the gaming world - it's boring. You're hunting a giant monster, a concept that seems difficult to not make exciting, and it's boring. Each match largely follows the exact same sequence of events, and after a handful of times it gets terribly, drag-out dull. On top of everything else, the nail in the coffin was the god-awful DLC plan. Players were justifiably upset when a game whose main complaint was a lack of content already had more than the base game's price in DLC on day one, asking players to pony up gobs of cash for cosmetics, hunters, and monsters that probably should have been included in the original asking price.
