Best Role-Playing Game
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt continues the adventures of Geralt of Rivia. The series has progressed with leaps and bounds with every new instalment and it has veritably dethroned all previous 'best' RPGs with its long list of successful design features. Thoughtful and often dark quest lines with meaningful choices and their repercussions, an extensive open world to explore, great armour and weapon customisation that have refreshingly realistic designs, as well as stunning environments and graphics.
No game is absolutely perfect, but any small complaints about The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt are easily forgiven when you delve into the story and experience Geralt's complex history. His relationships with the characters that he meets, the superb voice acting and lifelike facial animations all deepen the immersion and instil an idea that you are actually interacting with someone. Throw in one of the best mini-games in all mini-game history - Gwent - and you have a true winner on your hands.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt reaches dizzying heights of greatness and raises the bar for RPGs to a point where it seems impossible for others to catch up anytime soon.
