"It's like football, but with cars," should be enough for most people to understand why Rocket League is our best racing / sports game of the year, but that description doesn't do it enough justice.
The sense of progression as your skill level grows is unlikeany other game has provided all year. The first time you hit the ball you feel like you've accomplished something. Your first goal is met with a sense of glee. The first time you use your rocket booster launches you off the ground to hit the ball as it's flying through the air is incredible. Even after dozens of hours you can learn new tricks that will help you get the edge over your opponents.
Developer Psyonix has done a great job with DLC too. New content packs have been coming out regularly and at reasonable prices. Each new DLC brings a free update with it, adding new maps and items for everyone.
Rocket League is a game that consistently has you coming back for more, and it's worth checking out even if you don't like sports or racing games.
