Divinity: Original Sin is your alternative role-playing game - it's completely unlike your typical "modern" RPG. It has a knack for the small things, with a sprawling campaign filled with funny little ideas and weird emergent occurrences. Every dungeon and adventure is packed full of secret doors, hidden traps and magical puzzles, and its quests are detailed and imaginative and as far away from "collect 10 pieces of meat" as you can get. Divinity has a fine set of systems that become more interesting when they interact. There's the tactical turn-based combat with its shear flexibility and mad elemental cocktails, and then there's the way the world encourages you to explore, experiment and even break parts of it. Divinity offers a world where your physical presence and behaviour within it are as impactful as your dialogue choices. Being lost amongst the complexity is part of the appeal, and it's ultimately worth it when there are so many different ways to play.
