This year was a great year for new IPs. From large and small companies, new things started trying to make their impact on the gaming world. No new IP made quite as big an impact as This War of Mine however. Taking a setting common place for a videogame, our image of a war zone was flipped to a new perspective where a game had not taken us before. Rather than playing in the role of a soldier fighting the good fight, we played as innocent people caught in the crossfire between two sides unwilling to give an inch. The consequences of war played out as minutes, turned to hours, turned to days of addiction to this bleak but charming title. This War of Mine is a hard hitting and gripping game, and one that you can come and go from as you please without risking losing that impact.
