Wreaking havoc on our planet again.

Defend or Destroy (cont.)

With fully destructible environments (yes, you can shoot rockets at nearby buildings to tear them apart if you wish) an awesome sense of realism is added to the intense climatic battles. You're a 30-foot tall robot. When you run down the street, things are going to shake. When you run into a building, it's going to break. And with scalable buildings, be prepared for your fair share of rooftop battles. The developers have also promised that while anything can be destroyed, anything can be used as a weapon as well. The fighting mechanics of the game will probably be the best part of the whole experience.

It's Full-Out Warfare

Although Autobots are truly the heroes, the pitiful humans can't seem to be able to tell one side from the other and “defend” themselves equally from both. Being swarmed by tanks, rockets, planes - basically anything the army can come up with - is more than a minor annoyance, so rest assured that as an Autobot you won't only be fighting off Decepticon forces. Imagine the epic battle of Optimus Prime and Megatron right smack in the middle of a military base, with missiles and rockets flying all over the place.

In addition, one of the more enticing features of the game is the fact that it has become a free-roaming adventure title. You won't be limited to certain pre-determined encounters, and if you feel like wreaking some havoc downtown before heading off to destroy some more Autobots, do as you please. With over 30 transformations available, transportation will be as easy as ever. Fly or drive, it all comes down to your choice of a Transformer.

Even More Nostalgia

Graphically, the game looks freaking amazing. As Duncan Walker, lead programming of Transformers: The Game said himself, "I just want to keep transforming, because the animation artists made it look so damn good!" The seamless flow of the animations and the uncanny detail of each of the Transformers makes you wonder if the multi-million dollar movie can match the game. This time around, the Transformers are actually looking capable of destruction, and horror unlike their previous Megazord counterparts. Everything on the characters looks perfect, and, above all, totally necessary. All the small parts will make any of those "how do they transform like that?" fans take a few steps back in awe. Truly the Transformers are looking like they could actually do what they've been intended to do: transform. Along with the amazing graphical aspect of the game comes an awe-inspiring audio component. The music and sound effects heard thus far were enough to send chills down my spine and bring an aching smile to my face. And with the original voice actors back in the scene, it should be enough to bring die-hard fans to their knees.

If this game keeps heading in the direction it seems to, then this just may be one of the best selling games of this year. Look out for it this Summer, along with the blockbuster movie.
