Sony Playstation 3 It has been a tough year for Sony. Sales of the Playstation 3 have been disappointing to say the least. While the recent price drop will certainly help spur sales, the thing needed most is still more games. High profile games like Lair crashing and burning and multi-platform games generally performing worse than their Xbox 360 counterparts have plagued the system all year long. It offers PS3 players a welcome alternative to Resistance: Fall of Man, ushering in a new day for the franchise with a cinematic first person experience and a robust multiplayer component that brings everything into the modern world.   While the core gameplay is three years old, there is nothing old about Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the Playstation 3. Sigma is not just a chance for Playstation fans to play the great Xbox game but also a fine tuning of an already great game. With better graphics, better gameplay and a more fleshed out story, Sigma is better than its original in every way and one of the best Playstation 3 games of the year.   Sometimes as a developer you need to roll the dice and attempt something new. Enter the Drake. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune melds high octane action-adventure with platforming aspects that take tomb raiding to the next level. Mix in a great story and some of the best graphics seen on any console and you can see why the Playstation was so fortunate to have this one on their system. Resources Warhawk
  Until Warhawk, Resistance: Fall of Man was the only real option for Playstation 3 owners who wanted to play online. Developer Incognito proved that the Playstation can support a solid online gameplay model by creating one of the most fun arena shooters in years. The combination of air combat, with solid Six Axis controls, and ground based warfare made Warhawk a unique multiplayer experience that should prove to be popular for a good long while.   Following up last year’s best Playstation 3 game, Resistance: Fall of Man, is no easy task, so following it up with the Playstation 3's best game this year, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, is all the more impressive. The game returns to its roots with Tools of Destruction while bringing the series into the new generation of gaming at the same time. Graphically things just don't get better than this and the variation in gameplay, overall quality and pure fun is only rivaled by Nintendo's glorious Super Mario Galaxy. Ratchet & Clank Future is hands down one of the best games you will ever play. Resources |
