Echoed Pairs: A signature mechanic of the set, Echoed Pairs feature prominently across booster packs, presenting legendary characters and spells alongside their alternate-reality (Echoverse) counterparts. It changes how you evaluate draft picks and rewards you for finding synergy between parallel versions of familiar faces.
Empower Jace: This puts loyalty counters on a Jace Planeswalker Token (or creates a Jace Token). Players can then spend the tokens to either Surveil (one token cost) or draw a card (3 token cost)
Prepare (returning): A card becomes prepared if it has completed the prerequisite task. If it is prepared, players can cast a copy of it - which then returns the spell to an unprepared state.
Flashback (returning): This mechanic returns a spell from the graveyard for its Flashback cost. It is an effective way to use your graveyard like a second hand. It is also another opportunity to replay instants and sorcery spells that would normally be single-use spells.
Colour-Shifted Perspectives: While not a keyword mechanic on its own, the set mechanically represents characters wearing "the wrong colors" and schools of magic swapping traditional color alignments, providing a heavy nostalgic nod to classic Planar Chaos design philosophies baked into modern play.
