Away From Keyboard - Lorcana: Archazia's Island

Tropical Paradise
After the piratical and nautical theme of the Azurite Sea set, Archazia's Island focuses on characters found within the mysterious island - an island inhabited primarily by dogs and cats. As a result, characters from movies such as Bolt, Lady and the Tramp, and the Aristocats feature heavily. The Island itself is filled with traps and challenges and is dominated by a mysterious owl-shaped castle in its centre. Of course, the titular Archazia (one of the original Illumineers) resides on the island, and has the prowess to enable dual-inkcasting.
We at Hooked Gamers were privileged to receive review copies of both single player decks from the Archazia's Island set to test prior to release. Like previous sets, these Single player decks allow players to jump straight into a game with premade decks. The first deck (which features Jafar and Iago) concentrates on an Amethyst and Steel pairing, whilst the second deck (which features Belle and Beast) focuses on Ruby and Sapphire.
From our playthroughs, the Amethyst and Steel cards seem to focus on cards with high attack and defense (and seem to have more villains), whilst the Ruby and Sapphire combo focuses more on cards with greater lore counters.
Mechanics
The main new mechanic within the Archazia's Island set is dual ink cards. Up until now, every card belonged to one of the six magical ink colours - Amethyst, Amber, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Steel. Each of these colours had their own play style, and players could build their decks with up to two different colours (much like the pre-built single players decks).
Dual-ink cards belong to two inks, and have characteristics from both of them. Players must however be playing both colours in their deck to be able to play them. So, although they can be quite powerful, there are limitations.

The Cards
With a set that is based around Cats and Dogs, it was quite obvious as to some of the movies and characters that feature in the set.
