World of Battleships Website Leaves Port
Wargaming.net has announced it's latest contender for complete domination over the war simulation market with World of Battleships. A free-to-play title, much like World of Tanks, the game will use the same mechanics used in the former game to fuel the latest title. The studio claims that if you have played World of Tanks, the credits, gold and experience system will allow you to get into the game very rapidly.
The game will feature massive naval battle featuring multi-ton behemoths to conquer the high seas of the 20th century, a straightforward interface and simple controls. Sounds like Wargaming.net is taking pains to ensure the game is accessible to as many people as is humanly possible, while ensuring diversity through unique combinations of firepower, speed, armor and endurance for the great metal behemoths. There will be multiple environments to wreak havoc in, and weather will play a crucial role in battle.
According to the website, the players have three main classes of ships to choose from:
- Aircraft carriers that provide both naval and air support
- Battleships and heavy cruisers able to scarify the enemy with their looks alone
- Light destroyers with speed and agility as their strongest points
There is no official release date yet, but you can see additional screenshots on the World of Battleships website, or watch the inaugural trailer from a few weeks ago below.
