Assassin's Creed Syndicate Revealed

The next entry in the now annual Assassin's Creed series has been revealed as Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Set in Victorian London in 1868, players will take on the roles of Jacob and Evie Frye, confirming that there will be two playable protagonists for the first time in an AC game. Each character appears to have a distinct play style, with Jacob a brash brawler and Evie a master of stealth. Players will also be able to switch freely between the two characters outside of story missions. Like entries before it, Syndicate is set to feature historical figures in the form of novelist Charles Dickens and biologist Charles Darwin.

Unlike the previous major entry in the series, Assassin's Creed Unity, Syndicate is going to be single player only. Ubisoft reportedly decided to go in this direction in order to let the development team in Quebec "focus on creating the biggest city based open-world that we’ve ever had for an Assassin’s Creed game". As a result Syndicate's London map is supposed to be 30% larger than Unity's Paris. For any curious Londoners out there the map will consist of 6 boroughs: Westminster, the Strand, the City of London, Whitechapel, Southwark, and Lambeth. The game is also set to feature driven vehicles and traffic systems as well as utilising the Thames as a prominent feature.
