Oculus Rift Gets Official Price
After Oculus opened pre-orders today, we finally got to see the official price for the VR system, which is $599. At the time, the orders were expected to ship sometime in March. Unfortunately, for anyone interested, pre-orders have already sold out on the first day, despite the steep cost. The ship date has since moved to April.
The Oculus Rift comes with the headset, motion tracker, Xbox One Controller, the Oculus remote, and two games, Eve: Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale. This is all quite an expansive set with a total cost of around 600 bucks, before tax.
With Oculus being one of the first notable VR pricing announcements, I'd guess that most of the other VR systems will price themselves slightly lower, when they announce their prices.
