'The Thirty-Nine Steps' coming to PC, Mac, iOS devices

John Buchan's spy thriller The Thirty-Nine Steps will be receiving the game treatment for the PC, Mac, and iOS devices in March.

Simon Meek of developer Tern Digital recently spoke with Polygon about the upcoming video game adaptation.
“The Thirty-Nine Steps is the first of a new breed of interactive entertainment that brings powerful and emotive storytelling to audiences via digital platforms,” said Meek. “We believe the product has the potential to reach out to audiences everywhere — whether they’re core gamers, casual gamers, digital readers or anyone else with a passion for a great story.

“We have taken great care to hand-pick the best publishing partners need to take this new product to widest possible market.”
The developer is currently gauging interest on other titles based on works of literature, such as Great Expectations, Treasure Island, and Jekyll & Hyde.

Avanquest will be publishing the retail edition of the PC version with KISS Ltd. handling the digital distribution. The Thirty-Nine Steps will last between 6 and 7 hours and will be released on March 15, 2013.
