The Darkness II Gets Delayed

2K have announced that their upcoming sequel, The Darkness II, has been delayed from an October release to February 2012.

The game will now have the release date of February 7 in the US and February 10 in the UK. No reasoning was given for the delay but one could chalk it up to the game's original release date being too crowded. You have Batman: Arkham Asylum and Battlefield 3 both releasing in the same month. Might not have been a great month to launch a sequel to a cult-classic.

2K also announced some details for their Comic-Con panel, celebrating The Darkness IP's 15th anniversary. Mike Patton, The Darkness' co-creator Marc Silvestri and Dark Cow CEO Matt Hawkins talking up the sequel.

The game will also be playable to those in attendance.
