Homefront To Use THQ Pass

THQ has announced that their upcoming FPS title, Homefront, will use their online code to combat second-hand sales. Think EA's Online Pass.

The code given with the game will block off certain aspects to the game's online portion, if you purchased the game second hand. If you buy the game new, you will be given the code that allows for full online participation. If you buy the game used, the code will cost you $10 to play online.

Homefront becomes the second THQ game to use the Pass, UFC Undisputed 2010 used the Pass last year.

According to a report, the game's multiplayer will still be accessible to you no matter whether you buy it new or used, if you buy used the game's online portion will be restricted up to level 5. After that, further progress will be blocked, thus requiring you to purchase the THQ Pass to continue.

Homefront is out March 8 in the US and March 11 in the UK for the PS3, 360, and PC.
