The Drifter adds French, Italian and Spanish localisations
Aussie indie duo Powerhoof are today thrilled to announce that their award-winning, point and click thriller The Drifter now includes official French, Italian and Spanish localisations, in addition to full support for fan-made translations.
These highly-requested localisations open the door for more players across the globe to experience this pulpy, off-the-rails thrill ride for themselves ahead of the arrival of Nintendo Switch ports, which will be launching later this year, details of which will be announced at a later date.
"By far the most requested feature for The Drifter has been localization into more languages. There's a lot out there though, and with over 50,000 words in the game we couldn't do them all... officially at least..." said Dave Lloyd, writer and designer at Powerhoof.
Alongside the fresh localisations, a new patch introduces a few quality-of-life updates, numerous bug-fixes, text corrections and behind-the-scenes optimisations, ensuring there has never been a better time to experience this pulse-pounding adventure - which is available at a ripping 20% discount this week as part of Steam Detective Fest, beginning later today at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT / 7pm CET.
The Drifter recently picked up multiple awards at the 2025 Australian Game Developer Awards: Game of the Year, Excellence in Narrative, Excellence in Visual Art, and Excellence in Sound Design. It also scooped the ANZ Indie Game Award at the Indie Game Awards last month - in addition to being featured in multiple critics 'Best of 2025' lists and end of year articles.
A classic 2D point and click adventure with the brake-lines cut - The Drifter propels players breathlessly into a web of shadowy corporations, conspiracy, murder, and the thousand year obsession of a madman, as they help Mick Carter solve the mystery of his own homicide.
The Drifter takes its cues from the modern revival of the adventure genre and delivers an engrossing and unpredictable edge-of-your-seat story, while logical, down-to-earth investigative puzzles act as the sinew between razor-sharp narrative beats.
