Mass Effect 3 Kinect Features Revealed and Gameplay
At Microsoft's E3 Press Conference, Mass Effect 3 gameplay was shown and with it, how the Kinect will work inside the game.
Mass Effect 3 will be compatible with Kinect, but its focus will not be on motion controls but will instead support voice recognition. During conversations players will be able to read responses out loud to decide what direction the conversation will go.
On top of this, players will be able to use the voice recognition of the Kinect to command squad members. This means that players can say the name of the companion and what they want them to do - ranging from taking cover, to attacking enemies.
The demonstration of these features were actually not that bad. It means that with the Kinect, players will not have to navigate interface menus and can more quickly react to the situation due to this. Will it appeal to core Mass Effect players? Due to the ability to be more effective in combat, it is possible.
