With so many sequels this year, it is nice to see some fresh material. It can be tough for new IPs to get exposure, let alone gain critical acclaim, yet Telltale's first episode of The Wolf Among Us was able to do both. The game - based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic book series - won plaudits from the team here at Hooked Gamers for everything from the story centred around fairy tale folk now residing in New York, to the heavy-lined comic book art style. The narrative progresses smoothly, with a mixture of puzzles and dialogue choices that draws you into the role of the main character Bigby Wolf. And although the setting is darker than a typical fairy tale, the classic Telltale humour is present. With all the elements combining superbly, The Wolf Among Us shines brightly as the Best New IP for 2013.
