Armor

Everyone loves the game's hero, Master Chief. What is his real name you ask? Well I'm not sure if truth be told, but who's to say we won't find out as this new title winds its way to an exciting conclusion. However, he will be sporting a new and improved golden armor. It has been reported that his new armor picks up its golden glow from the various dusty environments he will be forced to traverse in the Halo world.

Will there be a Halo 4 to carry on the tradition of the soon to be three previous games? As of this writing the answer to that is a definitive no. But knowing the good folks over at Microsoft, a no answer often will turn into a yes. In this writer's humble opinion it would be foolish to end such a successful series such as Halo at just three installments. However, I'm happy knowing that there will finally be a Halo 3 and that I can battle either computer generated enemies or those infernal human opponents in the online action.

Taking it online

Speaking of online play, Halo 3 will again be available on Microsoft's online game system Xbox Live. Check there for information and to sign up for the open beta test. I'm not sure if the beta test will soon be closed because there are nearly 140,000 folks that have signed up at the time this article was written. Online play is also improved upon and you can expect to see, for example, better chat tools. This certainly will make cooperative play that much more enjoyable.

Halo 3 is the big one folks. Ever since Gears of War was released a few months ago Bungie has been feeling the urge to one up the good folks at Epic Games, Inc. Of course Microsoft does not really care which game finishes on top because they are publishing them both. Add in the fact that both games are made for the Xbox 360 and you better believe that Bill Gates will be laughing all the way to the bank. Yet again! I have a sneaking suspicion that Bungie just may emerge on top of the action shooter heap come awards day mainly because of the legion of entrenched Halo fans. After taking a closer look at this third game in the trilogy I certainly have to believe that Microsoft will have another smash hit on their hands. What do you think?
