Lucky owners of left for dead that own it on the PC will be treated to a patch for the zombie holocaust survival fest next week, courtesy of Valve. Unfortunately no word on a patch / update for the 360 version yet.
"For the patching, the real key is to patch more often and not wait for everything to accumulate," Faliszek posted. "Because of a perfect storm of events, this patch got larger than we would have liked and that really snowballed the time it is taking.
"The problem on the PC side was a few large bugs affected other systems that we were going to rewrite on the pc so we ended up waiting to fix a whole class of bugs instead of just individual bugs. The patch should be out this week.
"Sadly Microsoft has nothing to do with the PC patch... that delay is all us," he added. "The PC and 360 will be patched independently not sure where people picked up that exploit/bug fixing was tied together. Only the DLC will be simultaneous."

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is set to see its latest update, including a beta version of the Sacred 2 network, as well as some Christmas spirit.
The big part of the update, which is 620mb in size, is the Sacred 2 network - an online community allowing players to communicate, and have ladders and high scores. You will be able to win ranks online, compare character and guild information or just use the network to chat and make friends to play with.
The update also brings 20 new enemies to fight, new weapons and armour, a new snow region and a new holiday quest line that rewards you with a festive set of armour.

Rockstar is planning to ship GTA4 with SecuROM, a piracy prevention product, to stop the game being illegally copied. Piracy is a big issue with PC games nowadays, but security has come a long way.
"We invest a considerable amount of time and effort to release each title, and employ a large number of people in the process. Having copy protection allows us to protect the integrity or our titles and future investments." Rockstar told IGN. "But at the same time we have worked very hard to ensure that our solutions do not persecute the legitimate players of our games."
Owners of the game will need an internet connection to register the game, and will need to keep the disc in the drive to be able to play the game. "GTA IV PC also requires a number of software installations, including Games For Windows, Adobe Flash, Internet Explorer, SecuROM and our Rockstar Games Social Club application."

Football Manager 2009 has proved very problematic for PC gamers recently. Sega has acknowledged the fact that there are problems with authorising the game to be able to play it. They have stated that the chances of activating your game are increasing as each hour passes. Sega are putting this down to high demand on their servers.
"Sega are aware that there have been some problems with the activation of Football Manager 2009 today," it said in a statement. "This has been due to a combination of issues relating to the printing of key codes and the huge demand for the game.
"A solution is in place and is starting to clear the problem, we are confident that the issue will be solved today. The chances of successful authentication are increasing hourly. At this point consumers still experiencing difficulties are advised to leave a 10 minute gap between authentication attempts."

Blizzard is taking a page out of Microsoft's books that only just the other day banned a large amount of console modifiers. Blizzard is taking up the task to clean up their games by banning 350,000 StarCraft and Diablo 2 players who are using third party hacks.
The bans however are not permanent. After 30 days they will be able to create a new account. If those accounts play unfairly again then the ban will become permanent. "As part of our continued effort to ensure a fair and fun online experience for all Battle.net players, we have expanded our efforts to remove cheaters from StarCraft and Diablo II."
