British Teenager Arrested In Connection With LulzSec
A British teenager from Essex has been arrested in connection with the recent hacking attacks by LulzSec.
The 19-year old from Wickford, Essex has been arrested by Essex police on the suspicion of Computer Misuse Act and Fraud Act offences. As some of you may know LulzSec are a group who have recently been hitting video-game related websites, in a series of attacks using DDoS (distributed denial of service). They hit websites such as the escapist, and big video-game companies such as Bethesda, Nintendo and Sony.
The arrest was carried out by the Metropolitan Police Force's e-Crime unit with help from the FBI. A statement released by the police stated that a search of the suspects address and an examination of a significant amount of material has begun.
Although the police did not clarify that there was a link between the suspect and LulzSec. They did say the arrest was made after an investigation into the recent DDoS attacks and website intrusions. The suspect who is yet to be named is said to be held in custody in London. The arrest follows the news in Spain that the other "crusaders" of the internet, Anonymous, had allegedly had two members arrested following the PSN attacks.
