KAPOW! Take That Zombie!

Other Side Of The Coin

September 1998. The streets are devoid of life as we know it. The forms that roam the streets have lost all sense of humanity. The T-virus has spread throughout the entire city, changing everyone into zombies that desire to destroy all things living. It’s quite a mess for the Umbrella Corporation to clean up, but that’s why they hired you. The only other living humans around here are the United States Special Operations force, but don’t go asking them for help. The only reason they’re here is to wipe you and your Umbrella Security Service team off the face of the Earth for being a part of creating this terror. Don’t worry, that just means there are a few more bodies to add to the count, right?

No Survivors

Operation Raccoon City is promised to be another strong game for the Resident Evil franchise, but it’s certainly more of an offshoot than a proper sequel. It’s actually a different interpretation of the events that occurred in Resident Evil 2 and 3. If you haven’t played those games, here’s a brief rundown: Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield take the zombie-killing stage in Resident Evil 2. It’s Leon’s first day as a rookie police officer and Claire is busy looking for her brother Chris when the two team up. It is revealed that Chris is investigating Umbrella Headquarters in Europe and almost everyone else in town is either dead or has transformed into a zombie, making getting out of town the number one priority. Resident Evil 3 takes place slightly before as well as concurrently with Resident Evil 2. The main protagonist is Jill Valentine, a former agent of the Special Tactics and Rescue Services as she tries to escape from Raccoon City during the virus outbreak.

In Operation Raccoon City, you know exactly what’s going on with the residents. You are a member of the Umbrella Security Service team; an elite team that is tasked with destroying all evidence of the outbreak and killing any survivors. The truth about the T-virus outbreak must be protected, even if the cost is killing people like Leon Kennedy and destroying his fantastic head of hair. But while you’re busy trying to keep the mess under wraps, the U.S. Spec Ops are trying to expose the actions of Umbrella. Maybe with the constant presence of zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons such as Hunters, Lickers and Tyrants, the Special Operations team will get a little distracted.

Take Your Pick

Operation Raccoon City offers you the chance to experience the game multiple ways through offering six different USS agents to build a four-person squad. First, there’s Vector – a silent and deadly type with the ability to cloak himself or mimic enemies and allies in order for him to ideally investigate his surroundings. Spectre is a sharpshooting sniper that keeps up with surveillance for the team by using his infrared goggles to scan the city for threats. There’s also Beltway, a tank character with bulky armor and proficient use of mines that can stun or kill enemies, making him the explosive expert. Bertha is the team’s medic, her weapons of choice are healing abilities and anti-viral sprays to slow the progress of the infection, as well as an adrenaline shot to increase her combat effectiveness and survivability. Four Eyes is the scientist of the group with the ability to program the Bio-Organic Weapons. Lastly there’s Lupo, the assault weapons aficionado and team leader.
