Plan
On the villainous side of the aisle, chaos requires coordination. Plan is a brand-new enchantment subtype that lets you plot your path to global domination. Each Plan enchantment has a triggered ability that rewards you with minor perks and a "plan counter" whenever you take specific actions (like letting Villains enter the battlefield). Once you slowly scheme your way to the final required counter, the Plan comes to fruition: you sacrifice the enchantment and unlock a truly catastrophic ultimate reward.
Connive
Making a welcome return, Connive is back to represent the underhanded machinations of the universe's masterminds. When a creature connives, you draw a card and discard a card, filtering your hand perfectly. If you discard a nonland card, that creature gets a +1/+1 counter. It's the perfect mechanical representation of villains like Kang filtering through timelines to find the perfect weapon.
Modal Double-Faced Cards (MDFCs)
Modal Double-Faced Cards are back to represent the ultimate comic trope: secret identities. These cards feature two distinct faces, letting you choose which side to cast depending on the board state. Crucially, this set continues the modern rule change allowing these specific MDFCs to actually transform mid-game, letting your mild-mannered civilians gear up when the fighting starts.
