Golf is an incredibly popular sport, which is why seeing it turned into a gaming creation is entirely understandable and - most of all - incredibly fun. The likes of Tiger Woods and other releases have certainly done the sport justice in the past, and now the gaming community is excited for PGA TOUR 2K21. It looks like it'll be another cracker, too.

The rise in popularity around golf games highlights the overall rise in the popularity of games altogether. Golf games haven't always garnered up huge interest and have had a relatively loyal but niche following. Now, with a little help from the aforementioned Tiger Woods and his series of games, they're the norm. Golf games and their rise to prominence has been similarly matched with other sports games, alongside other creations like the type of online slots in Canada if you click here. Gaming, on the whole, is booming. Golf games are reaping the rewards from it as they continue to enter the mainstream and win around fans who aren't necessarily golfers, but just gamers who enjoy a golfing creation and everything it entails.

With so many golf games around, we thought we'd highlight some of the best releases on PC at the moment. PGA TOUR 2K21 might be hogging the limelight currently, but there are some other great options out there.

The Golf Club 2

The Golf Club 2 isn't everyone's cup of tea, but some players rate the game highly. An immersive golf sim, the game is blessed with excellent graphics, all-round solid physics, and online matches which help keep it up to date. On top of this, the single-player game mode is brilliantly fun, as you aim to climb up the amateur ranks and into the professional world of golf. You can also go head-to-head with up to three other online golfers as you try and better their scorecard. There's also a function to design your very own golf courses, which is always fun. Overall, The Golf Club 2 is a solid golf game.

John Daly's ProStroke Golf

John Daly is a legend from the sport of golf, which is why seeing a game made with him at the centre of it is hardly surprising. John Daly's ProStroke Golf isn't a let down either, which can sometimes be the case with creations of this type which seem to carry weight purely because of who is on the front cover. In fact, this particular release is a golfing experience like no other, with its superb commentary, ambient sounds, accurate first-person mode, and it's unique ProStroke control system which adds another dimension to the all-round gameplay. With 12 different courses and several different game modes to experience, John Daly's ProStroke Golf is well worth playing.

Tiger Woods PGA 2004

Yes, this game is from 2004, and yes, more modern versions of golf games are around currently, but even today you really can't go wrong with Tiger Woods PGA 2004. Simply put, it's a classic. It should never die out, which is why we're desperate to include it on the list. Without Tiger Woods PGA 2004, we wouldn't have the opportunity to see some of the other creations on the list. The gameplay is simple, it's a fun golfing experience for all, and even the nice addition of being able to create your own golfer makes for pure entertainment. If you're looking for good, honest, golfing fun, then Tiger Woods PGA 2004 is hard to beat. Still.

Other golf games worth playing are Golf Resort Tycoon II and Peter Jacob's Golden Tee Golf.
