Resident Evil 7: biohazard

Another year of adventures, and in some cases a year of nightmares. Resident Evil 7 started the year off with a bang as players were introduced to a reimagining of the series that took on a first person perspective, and returned the game to its survival horror roots rather than the gunfests that the last few games have been.

Facing the Baker family, and the horrors of their home in Louisiana, players embark in a life-or-death effort to reach the truth of what has transpired in this rural terror. Managing health items, ammo, and necessary items to progess players often find themselves rationing what to carry and what to leave behind while trying not to be murdered by old Jack Baker and his loving family. Their own brand of southern hospitality involves butchering you alive rather than offering you some home cooking and sweet tea. Resident Evil 7 was a thrill ride from start to finish, introducing new characters into a long running story arc making it accessible even to series newcomers so that anyone looking for a terrifying time could come along for the ride.
