GoldenEye 007
Retro titles were big on the Wii this year, but there were none bigger or more anticipated than GoldenEye 007. Pierce Brosnan was replaced with Daniel Craig but other than that, the game retains all the glory and polish of the N64 classic. GoldenEye 007's controls work smooth and precise and its visuals set a high standard for a Wii title. This remake is immensely fun to play and offers challenging and rewarding single player missions while taking the multiplayer modes to a whole new level. Hunting down your mate sitting next to you hasn’t been this much fun since the original.

Donkey Kong Country Returns
It is on like Donkey Kong! Donkey Kong Country made its return this year, putting the rumble into the hearts of Nintendo fans worldwide. As one would expect, everything about this game just spells Nintendo. From its unique monkey crew, beautifully coloured backgrounds and intense levels, Donkey Kong Country Returns is just pure, honest, stripped down Nintendo fun.

Epic Mickey
Legendary developer Warren Spector has been relatively quiet over the past few years but his latest effort had our blood stir from the day it was revealed. Epic Mickey is a startlingly imaginative take on the House of Mouse formula. The characters contained within made us rethink the Disney brand's image as a whole and the paint and thinner mechanic take dynamic environments to a whole new level. This is no kids game though: it both looks and plays like a title for the nostalgic 20+ crowd that grew up on the cartoons and themeparks. Anyone who questions the Wii's capacity to deliver a compelling gameplay experience take note: Epic Mickey is not just epic in name.

Kirby's Epic Yarn
Kirby’s Epic Yarn is a fantastic return for our favorite pink ball. It delivers some of the most creatively designed levels and environments ever to grace the Wii and its diverse challenges will keep you on the tip of your chair for hours. All these things combined make Kirby’s Epic Yarn the best game in the series by far and a worthy of a place in our top 5 Wii games of 2010.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
While not radically different than its predecessor, Super Mario Galaxy 2 expands on everything we enjoyed from the original Super Mario Galaxy. While adding fan favorites such as Yoshi into the familiar mix, the game retains the legendary and mindbending experience that we enjoyed back in 2007. Excellent gameplay, superb graphics, stunning level design and fantastic audio, everything is perfected down to an art.

Player's get to see a different side of Metroid in Metroid: Other M, but only in story. As expected of a Metroid game, it delivers great visuals and good combat mechanics.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is a stylish and deep game and a showcase for using motion controls in an action game to boot.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
Its weird cast of characters makes Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars a bit of an anomalie, but if you like fast and furious combat, this game is unrivaled on the Wii.
Red Steel 2
Asia meets the Wild Wild West in Red Steel 2. Using the Wii-mote, sword fights have never been this much fun, guaranteed.
