Mighty No. 9 Sets Release Date
In an official statement on Mighty No. 9's website, Keiji Inafune, after apologizing for the delays, announced the definite release date for the $4 million Kickstarter game will be June 21st for North America & Asia, and June 24th for the rest of the world. Inafune has also confirmed that the spiritual successor to the Mega Man games has "gone gold," meaning this version is the version that will ship to the backers and retailers, both physical and digital.
Mighty No. 9's Kickstarter launched on August 31st, 2013, and succeeded in quadrupling its $900,000 goal. Initially the game was slated to release in April of 2015, however, it was delayed to September 15th. After Comcept's Red Ash game and anime Kickstarter in August of 2015, it was announced the game had been delayed again, to the first quarter of 2016. Keiji Inafune announced another delay in January, this time to Q2 of 2016. According to Keiji Inafune, there will be no more delays, and Mighty No. 9 will be released on June 21st.
