Dark Souls III Opening Cinematic Trailer
As cryptic as all the other trailers, the Dark Souls III trailer starts an interesting premise of the third and possibly final installation of the Dark Souls franchise. One of the most interesting bits is the phrase "transitory lands of the Lords of Cinder". This, along with rumors that the player will visit FireLink Shrine, among other Dark Souls I locations. I can only speculate, but it seems Dark Souls III will tie both of the previous games together.
Some of the Lords of Cinder referred to in the trailer are Aldritch, Saint of the Deep; Farron’s Undead Legion, the Abyss Watchers; and Yhorm the Giant. In Dark Souls II, Lord Gwyn was referred to as a Lord of Cinder. One could speculate on the connection that he might share with these new characters. There's numerous words, phrases, and images that one could draw parallels to previous From Software games, but right now all we have is this trailer.
Dark Souls III will be released on all platforms on April 16th.
