Devolver Digital Offers to Publish Metal Wolf Chaos
Back in 2004, From Software released an incredibly bizarre game, in which the Vice President of the United States started a coup d'état against the President. In order to stop him, the President hopped into his Mecha and freed the country, all the while spouting odd lines about being the President and how much he loved America. The game, Metal Wolf Chaos, was released exclusively to Japan, on the Xbox Original console, meaning it sold relatively few copies, as there were not many Xboxes sold in Japan.
Now, twelve years later, there's a lot of push for this weird, niche game to come to the West. Starting with some Let's Players doing a playthrough of the game, and then a hashtag movement titled #FreeMetalWolf. There was enough swell that publisher Devolver Digital offered to help get Metal Wolf Chaos to the West.
From Software has only said the following on the matter.
No official word has been given by From Soft if they're interested in the offer, but we can only hope they will bring such a patriotic game to the rest of the world.
Interestingly, Metal Wolf Chaos is still one of the rarest and most sought out after video game's on the Xbox Original, going for anywhere between $140.00 to $160.00.
