Darkest Dungeon Release Date
After a successful Kickstarter in early 2014, Darkest Dungeon launched on Steam's Early-Access. A challenging RPG, with a difficult RNG and stress system, making crawling through dungeons difficult. Initially the game was set to release in October, but the team at Red Hook Studios found this to be unreasonable. Again, shooting for December, complications came up. Now, Red Hook Studios has made January 19th, 2016 the official release date for Darkest Dungeon. Though still available on Early-Access, the RPG will be a finished product in January.
Red Hook Studios has promised to maintain its habit of making large content updates throughout the rest of development.
"In keeping with our commitment to regular content updates," Red Hook said on the Kickstarter page, "We'll be dropping an interim patch towards the end of November that introduces a new playable hero: The Abomination! Designed in collaboration with our Lord tier Kickstarter backer, this bloodthirsty class is unlike anything currently in the game."
Darkest Dungeon is available now on Steam Early-Access, and the full game will be released on January 19th, 2016.
