Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Will Have Micro-transactions

In what is both unshocking and mildly disappointing news, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate will feature micro-transactions. Ubisoft Quebec Development Director, Francois Pelland, told IGN that Syndicate will have in-game purchases that are "entirely optional and aimed at people who want to speed up their play", which is the usual excuse publishers and developers use when they're describing their in-game purchases.

"Assassin's Creed Syndicate will include paid options to save time and accelerate progress," Pelland said, "The model for Assassin's Creed Syndicate is quite similar to Black Flag, allowing players who do not have time to fully explore our huge game world to still be able to eventually acquire the game’s most powerful gear as well as other items. Rest assured, all of AC Syndicate's content is available without paying anything additional and the game has been balanced such that microtransactions are 100% optional."

Pelland did not, however, explain why micro-transactions had to be the way to help players who don't have a lot of free-time speed along their process, instead of free in-game cheats, or something to that effect.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and its micro-transactions come to PC November 19th.
