Snake's Japanese voice actor: 'Kojima Productions has disbanded'

Akio Otsuka, who voices Big Boss and Solid Snake in the Metal Gear series, put out a heartfelt goodbye message to Kojima Productions on his Twitter. The voice actor's message states that Kojima Productions has already disbanded.

Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is nearly complete,” Otsuka said in a tweet. “I’m not exaggerating when I say that I expect it will become their greatest masterpiece. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to say ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’ (Laughs.) But even if this is the end, Metal Gear Solid is immortal!”

Little information has been given by Kojima, KojiPro, or Konami on the fate of Kojima Productions. Previously, it's been all but confirmed that Kojima, among other senior staff, are working as contractors for Konami. They will leave Konami once their contract expires in December.

The fate of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear: Online is unknown beyond its release. MGSV will release September 10th on PC.
