Todd Howard Confirms No Plan for Paid Mods in Fallout 4
Fallout 4 has been riding a train of fan support this E3 week. With so many announcements, one thing had me worried; paid mods. Bethesda and Steam recently attempted to put paid mods up for Skyrim on Steam. Paid mods went poorly and ended within a few days.
Now with the onset of a huge hit, Bethesda's Todd Howard has denied that there are plans for paid mods for Fallout 4.
"In the Microsoft press conference it was announced PC [mods] would run on the Xbox One," asked a Spiegel Interviewer, "Do you have to pay for paid mods? In "Skyrim" Bethesda has experimented with a Mod-payment option, which was withdrawn after fan protests."
"How long was the online payment system? 24 Hours?" Howard replied, "I can only speak for the present time, but currently there are no plans for a payment system."

This doesn't confirmed paid mods are out the window, but does breed hope that they aren't in the works.
