Arma 3 Helicopters DLC dusts off
War simulator Arma 3 has today received its first full, paid DLC pack since the game was released over a year ago (not counting the tiny go-kart DLC). In what could be considered a masterclass in functional naming, it's called 'Arma 3 Helicopters.'
The new pack adds, as you might expect, a couple of helicopters to the game - big ones, at that. They're made for heavy lifting, and show off the new sling-loading feature that allows players to haul cargo across Altis by air.
Other new features added include a new, realistic flight model (based on Take On Helicopters), and the ability for players to shoot from within vehicles for the first time in the franchise. Naturally, this opens up all kinds of opportunities for air-lifting trucks full of soldiers over enemy lines, which is fantastic.
With this DLC, we've turned our attention towards enhancing helicopter flight, but there's much more to it than that alone. With our new features and content, combined arms gameplay in general has benefitted, and the Arma 3 platform is all the better for it!
In keeping with Bohemia Interactive's Arma 3 DLC policy, the new gameplay features will be available to all owners of Arma 3 for free, but buying the DLC will give you access to the shiny new helicopters and a handful of scenarios.
With Helicopters out of the way, Bohemia will continue work on the next DLC - Marksmen - with more details coming soon on what will be included.
