Bethesda announce forthcoming tomes for your real-life bookshelf
The Elder Scrolls games are known for being full of, functionally useless, literature. Seemingly every household in Tamriel possesses nineteen copies of The Lusty Argonian Maid, scattered haphazardly around the building. At last, you can recreate that thrill in real life, with Bethesda and Titan Books bringing two new book series to fruition.
Titled The Elder Scrolls Online – Tales of Tamriel and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Skyrim Library, the two series consist of two and three books, respectively, which are detailed below.
The Elder Scrolls Online – Tales of Tamriel
Vol. I: The Land, and Vol. II: The Lore
The two bound volumes chart the ongoing struggles between the Aldmeri Dominion, the Daggerfall Covenant, and the Ebonheart Pact – as well as the deadly invasion of Daedric Prince Molag Bal. Each book features close to one hundred specially commissioned, never-before-seen pieces of art illustrating the lives, the land, and the lore of Tamriel at war.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Skyrim Library
Vol. I: The Histories, Vol. II: Man, Mer and Beast, and Vol. III: The Arcane
This lavishly bound, three-volume series chronicles for the first time all of Tamriel’s history, and covers a multitude of Elder Scrolls lore – including the cultures, creatures, magic, myths, and more – illustrated with stunning art.
The whole lot will be, we're assured, beautifully bound. Titan Books have been doing this sort of thing for some time, being responsible for tie-in books for titles like Dead Space, Halo, and Battlefield, so it would seem the project is in safe hands.
