'Minecraft' for your PC gets a new launcher

Mojang have released a new launcher for Minecraft on the PC, which is a necessity for the game's 1.6 update.

The new launcher will boost performance and stability along with more new features. The launcher will also add more security options, an API-plug in and more.

You'll need to download the new launcher if you plan to play Minecraft past the 1.5.2 update as anything with 1.6 and above will not be supported by the old launcher.
