'Heavy Gear Assault' Kickstarter cancelled
StompyBot, developer of Heavy Gear Assault, has cancelled its Kickstarter campaign to resurrect the once proud mech title.
The developer has started accepting funding straight to their site rather than the crowd funding site. The Kickstarter was cancelled due to fears that the game's quality would not be up to par and that it would fall short of its goal.
The studio posted the following in its Kickstarter thread, confirming the cancellation of the campaign;
“Thank you for your dedicated support. We appreciate and highly value everyone’s opinions here which is why we have decided to cancel this KS campaign and continue crowd funding on heavygear.com. We believe very strongly in resurrecting the Heavy Gear franchise and giving the fans what they want.
“We are currently evaluating other strategies to raise awareness regarding Heavy Gear and looking at multiple means to get the Heavy Gear name out there. Thank you for your support everyone and stay tuned.”
The Kickstarter had raised nearly $45,000 of its intended $800,000. “We are currently evaluating other strategies to raise awareness regarding Heavy Gear and looking at multiple means to get the Heavy Gear name out there. Thank you for your support everyone and stay tuned.”
We'll keep you updated.
