'Cyberpunk 2077' could feature NPC's that speak in different languages
CD Projekt RED have stated that the development team working on Cyberpunk 2077, their next title, have discussed featuring non-playable characters who speak different languages. In order to decipher what these characters are saying you'll have to get a translator implant.
In a recent video interview with dubscore.pl, the developer's Sebastian Stepien stated;
“Decisions are not yet made, but we are thinking about some kind of system which could tell more about the game world.
“The idea is to record everything in its original language. If there are, for example, Mexicans in the game, they will speak with slang. All performed by Mexican actors. Then a player could try a translating implant, and according to its level, he will get better or worse translation.”
Would you be interested in playing a game where you might not be able to understand the dialogue until you unlock a certain accessory? Sound off in the comments. “The idea is to record everything in its original language. If there are, for example, Mexicans in the game, they will speak with slang. All performed by Mexican actors.
