Humble THQ Bundle raises struggling publisher's stock
The recently released Humble THQ Bundle has seen such success that it has literally raised THQ's struggling stock by 40%.
The bundle raised $2 million in its first 16 hours of being released, which is rather staggering if you think about it. The bundle included Company of Heroes along with the expansions Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor, Metro 2033, Darksiders, Red Faction: Armageddon, and Saints Row: The Third (if you paid over the average price).
According to GI.biz the company's struggling stock sat at just $1.07 as of November 28 but shot up to $1.60 when the THQ bundle was released the following day.
It's interesting that THQ opted to go this route as they have become the first major publisher to use the "Humble Bundle" route. Could this clear the way for other publishers, such as EA and Square, to do the same? We can only hope.
