Windows 8 sales 'disappointing' & 'below internal projections'

Microsoft's latest operating system Windows 8 has been labeled "disappointing" with sales coming in well below the company's projections.

According to a report by Gamespot a source close to Microsoft states that the company is troubled over the OS' sales so far, saying;
“Sales of Windows 8 PCs are well below Microsoft’s internal projections and have been described inside the company as disappointing. But here’s the catch: The software giant blames the slow start on lackluster PC maker designs and availability, further justifying its new Surface strategy.”
According to the source Microsoft has cited the operating system's poor sales numbers on other PC maker's inability to deliver. The poor sales numbers correspond with recent video game developers, such as Valve, speaking out against Microsoft's Windows 8.

Windows 8 is Microsoft's most culturally acceptable and user friendly operating system to date. What do you think?
