Zynga to enter the online gambling business
Struggling social video games developer Zynga is reportedly set to start offering real-money gambling titles, in partnership with bwin.party.
According to Gamasutra, Zynga's first real-money title will be a Farmville-themed slots game, which is expected to launch early 2013. According to Zynga's chief financial officer David Wehner said that the partnership is “a first step into real money gaming” and a “large opportunity for Zynga”.
Last week it was reported that Zynga laid off more than a hundred employees and closed several of their smaller studios. We'll see if this makes a difference in their next financial report.
