'MechWarrior Online' passes $5M in sales through its Founders Program
Piranha Games have announced that their free-to-play MMO MechWarrior Online has passed $5 million in sales through the game's Founder's Program.
What makes the number even more impressive is that the $5M has been gathered through pre-orders. The game's publisher, Infinite Game Publishing, announced the numbers were also tied to three tiers for the game; $30, $60, and $120.
“The success of the Founder’s Program reinforces IGP’s vision to help independent developers build exceptional games with the right economic model for the global marketplace,” IGP CEO Nick Foster said. “We are in a unique position to be able to deliver a pipeline of high quality, innovative content for online game players.”The game's open beta, which was set to start yesterday, was delayed due to stability concerns.
MechWarrior Online is set to launch later this year.
