Report: Microsoft Points to remain as currency for XBL, real case for W8
Microsoft has clarified their stance on how you will be paying for items through Windows 8 and Xbox LIVE.
As we told you yesterday, it was being reported that Microsoft was discontinuing Microsoft Points in their latest operating system in favor of real currency. MS have confirmed that real currency will become the standard option for purchases through Windows 8 but Microsoft Points will remain standard for Xbox LIVE.
A Microsoft spokesperson speaking with The Verge stated;
“Current Xbox Live customers may also make a purchase using points,” the representative added.
“Microsoft Points continue to be the currency for purchasing content for the Xbox 360 console.”
Just another case of Microsoft not taking advantage of getting everyone on the same page. “Microsoft Points continue to be the currency for purchasing content for the Xbox 360 console.”
