'WoW - Mists of Pandaria' sells 2.7M units week one
Blizzard have announced that World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria have sold 2.7 million digital and physical units in its first week.
However, the sales of the expansion are down 30% in the same time since the last WoW expansion, Cataclysm, launched. The figures come from Robert W. Baird & Co. analyst Colin Sebastian.
Sebastian stated that the drop in sales could be directionally proportionate to the number of subscribers dropping from Q4 2010 to Q3 2012.
“While the video game industry is mired in a challenging selling environment, we believe that Activision on a relative basis remains well positioned for Q4 with key holiday releases Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Skylanders Giants,” said Sebastian.
“We also expect Q3 results to be in-line or slightly ahead of guidance.”
