'NBA 2K13' to include 1992 Dream Team & 2012 US Olympic team


2K announced today that their upcoming basketball title, NBA 2K12, will include both the 1992 Dream Team and the 2012 US Men's Olympic team.

Supposedly the idea to include both teams came from rapper Jay-Z, who is also the game's executive producer.
“Letting fans go head to head with these legendary USA teams was extremely important to JAY Z,” said 2K marketing agent Jason Argent.

“We are excited to partner with USA Basketball, and share in JAY Z’s enthusiasm in making this a reality in NBA 2K13.”
NBA star and Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Kevin Durant also chimed in, saying;
“It was an incredible blessing to have been part of the 2012 USA Basketball National Team/ USA Basketball’s National Team legacy is incredible and so many of basketball’s all-time greats have been part of it, I’m just honored to be in that group. Like everybody, I can’t wait to see how our squad stacks up against the 1992 team in NBA 2K13,” he said.
The original Dream Team consisted of 11 hall of famers; Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, David Robinson, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Chris Mullin, and Scottie Pippen.

The 2012 US Men's Olympic team consisted of; Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, Tyson Chandler, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Love, Carmelo Anthony, Anthony Davis, and James Harden.
“The fantasy matchup between the legendary 1992 ‘Dream Team’ and the 2012 USA Men’s national team has become one of the greatest sports debates of our time,” JAY Z said.

“In NBA 2K13, we’re giving fans the opportunity to play as two of the best teams ever assembled in sporting history, literally putting the debate right into their hands.”
NBA 2K13 is out on October 2 in the US and October 5 in Europe for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS Vita, and PC.
