PixelFoundry Formed, BlackSpace Announced
A couple of ex-EA Tiburon developers have departed and formed their own studio, PixelFoundry, and have announced the company's first title, BlackSpace.
The game will be a PC affair and will be released later this year. The game will take you through space where you're looking for mineral deposits on planets to extract while flying your mining ships through the vastness that is the great beyond.
Apparently your goal through the game will be to find, mine, and defend your colonies. The game appears to be an RTS of sorts.
“We are early in development on BlackSpace,” said Phaneuf in the press release. “In line with some of the forward thinking independent developers out there, we really want to get the community involved with the game, incrementally releasing features and enhancements, while getting reactions and suggestions.”
No release date was announced.
