War Of The Roses Announced
Paradox Interactive have announced their next title, War of the Roses, once known as "Project Postman".
Developer Fatshark will be handling the creating duties and the game will apparently “straight up murder you with a battleaxe.”
The game's setting will be 15th century England where you will be tasked with taking part in a multiplayer melee. You will fight with “swords, battleaxes, longbows and other iconic medieval classics.”
The game will be a third-person affair and will feature both multiplayer and campaign modes. The boasts true RPG elements such as progression from “filthy peasant to unstoppable armored killing machine” to upgrades to weapons and armor.
The press release states that the campaign mode will prepare the players for combat in multiplayer. The single player mode will have advantages and items that will come useful to you in the MP setting. The developer could not confirm how many players could take part in one multiplayer battle but did say it would be "a lot".
“This is exactly the kind of game we’ve wanted to do for a long time,” said Martin Wahlund, CEO of Fatshark. “Our team’s very passionate about multiplayer, and we’re using everything we’ve learned from our previous projects to capture the thrill of the pitched medieval battle.
“It’s amazing to hear Fredrik Wester [CEO of Paradox Interactive] call this a ‘dream game’ for them. They’re the perfect partner for us.”
