Rift Launches March 1 in US, March 4 in UK

Trion Worlds fantasy MMORPG, Rift: Planes of Telara, has finally been given a launch date. The game's servers will go live for all on March 1 in the US, and on March 4 in the UK. Retail copies will begin sale on those dates, and both retail and digital download pre-orders have begun. There are a couple of newly-announced pre-order bonuses, including a special "Founder's Pricing" for the game's subscription plan.

Players who pre-order the game get their choice of one of three in-game pets, but also get access to the beta from the moment they place their order, and will be allowed participation in the "head-start period" and start playing the full game five days early, starting February 24.

On top of all that, all early-adopters can get in on the "Founder's Pricing" plan. Anyone who gets the game and agrees to any current subscription plan will keep that rate for the life of their active subscription. The month-to-month subscription is $14.99/£8.99 per month, the multi-month subscription plans are $11.99/£6.99 per month, billed as $35.97/£20.97 every 3 months, and $9.99/£5.99 per month, billed as $59.94/£35.94 every 6 months.

Trion Worlds also released a new trailer that takes a stab at World of Warcraft while showing some pretty standard fantasy content.
