Heart Forth, Alicia hits kickstarter after seven years of development
Mexico's Alonso Martin has just put Heart Forth, Alicia onto Kickstarter. With 29 days to go, it's already recieved over half of the funding it needs. As of this posting it has amassed $37,077 out of a $60,000 goal.
It's not hard to see why: the game is visually beautiful but also extremely vintage, hitting all the right nostalgic notes. The Kickstarter page describes the game thusly: "At Heart Forth, Alicia's core is an ode to the classics. Remember the electrifying gameplay of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the expansive worlds of the Zelda games, and the rich, engaging story of Xenogears? This game is crafted in the spirit of those great adventures of the '90s."
The game features a mixture of spellcasting, fast melee combat, puzzle solving, platforming, and RPG elements such as gear, loot, sidequests, and upgrades. It also promises an epic storyline and a vast, intricate world filled with hidden secrets.
Martin started the game seven years ago, developing the game on his lonesome. He has come to Kickstarter in order to bring other people into the project, speeding up the development considerably.
If the campaign is successful (and it looks like it will be, given how quickly it has gotten even this far), then Heart Forth, Alicia should to arrive on PC in May 2015.
