Project Spark and Linkin Park team up for a lark
Microsoft's new game-building tool Project Spark has been used to make a playable music video/game level for the rock band Linkin Park. The company describes the level, "Guilty All The Same," as the first-ever remixable and interactive music video/video game hybrid.
Apparently, the level is only a starting template. Because Project Spark is built for customization, players will be able to create, remix, and share their own versions of the level.
Linkin Park's music is...not universally loved, to say the least, but Project Spark is a fascinating new program, letting players make their own games in a variety of genres with simple, easy-to-use tools. It's a bit like Microsoft's take on "Little Big Planet," but with even more flexibility and full 3D gameplay.
You can download the beta version of Project Spark for free for PC and Xbox One. An Xbox 360 version will eventually follow.
